In 2005 the Passion Center for Children was founded with the simple mission of joining God in Rescuing, Redeeming & Restoring orphans, the vulnerable and whole communities in Malawi, Africa.
What started with 30 orphans and working in 12 villages has now grown into an amazing Church-based, Christ-centered, Community-transforming ministry touching thousands of lives in the Southern and Central Regions of Malawi. Please take just a moment and look over our ministries, and the people impacted:
- 500 orphans and vulnerable children receive shelter, education, healthcare and grace-filled care
- Over 150 Trained Community Health Network (CHN) volunteers bring basic healthcare and spiritual wholeness to over 150 remote villages
- Education is provided for ALL Passion students with over 50 now attending Universities and Vocational Colleges
- Over 90 Champs (Children with Special Needs) from over 30 villages regularly receive therapy, education, and spiritual counsel from 2 fixed site locations, and multiple remote village locations
- Over 30 Child-Headed Households (CHH) with over 80 orphans now have caring adults in their lives providing food, access to education, clothing and loving counsel and direction
- Over 60 Infants are in the Infant Rescue Project (IRP) which focuses on infants whose mothers have died during childbirth, or are unable to care for their babies. Providing baby formula & high protein food supplements, distributing clothing, and regular healthcare visit for each infant
- Over 50 homes have now been completely rebuilt after being destroyed by severe rainstorms or cyclones
- 9 churches have been planted and are the center for the Gospel Outreach and meeting community needs, such as Literacy Training, Widow sewing clubs and food sustainment
- The Passion Center for Pastors (PCP) trains over 1900 regional pastors in a 3 year Bible Based program throughout Malawi, including Refugee Camp pastors from 6 war-torn African nations
- A Vocational Training Center, Fish Farm, Computer Skills lab, Community Libraries and a Sports Complex are additional ministries recently introduced
The Run with Passion 5k joins dozens of other organizations and hundreds of individual partners to help sustain and grow the impact and reach of the Passion Center.
