TAC is a youth-led prevention team supported by DELTA Impact of New Directions and Knox Substance Abuse Action Team. TAC members are passionate, informed high school students who focus on preventing unhealthy behaviors among Knox County youth while serving as ambassadors of healthy lifestyles in their schools and communities. TAC provides students with a unique opportunity to have a voice in the community. Their goal is to empower young men and woman to stand for themselves, while making good choices and maintaining healthy relationships among their peers. TAC members utilized Knox County Pride survey & the TAC Peer Environmental Scan data to create a Youth Driven Strategic Plan to increase the onset age use of Alcohol use by providing information to Knox County youth and planning healthy community events such as the Color for a Cause 5k. Through TAC, members gain confidence, the skills necessary to plan and coordinate events, as well as the ability to lead by example and be a strong voice for positive change.
