Hilton Head BIG Fish 5K

The BIG Fish 5K race on Hilton Head honors and celebrates the life of John Berrigan. A portion of the proceeds and all donations will provide a scholarship to a local cross country runner (high school senior) who exhibits traits and characteristics John was known for, especially traits of perseverance to the sport  and kindness and gentleness to others. John was well known throughout the community as a friend to all. His smile lit up any room. He ran cross-country at Hilton Head Prep and qualified for States his first season. He always gave his all at practices and meets. We all miss John very much, this race was established to help share the sport with others and the importance of showing kindness to all. John loved cross country. When he wasn't running or studying, he was likely fishing at one of his favorite spots on the island. Fishing was a big part of his life.
