We're excited to announce that @marfaeducationfoundation will be this year’s Marfa100 donation recipient!
Marfa Education Foundation (MEF) is a non-profit that plays a critical role in the educational experience for students of Marfa ISD. Through grant funding, MEF supports innovative programming that would not otherwise be available to Marfa’s tiny school district, including a mix of academic, literacy, arts and technology programs. Students thrive in these programs and it is hard to summarize the breadth of what MEF offers. Some examples - students have gone on to state competitions in science and robotics, they have received scholarships to help with college, and they annually write and act in plays performed for the local Marfa community - all thanks to the support of MEF. MEF’s goal for the next academic year is to add a Driver’s Education course that would be free and available to all eligible teens. Right now, there is no Driver’s Education offered in Marfa, requiring students to travel 30 minutes out of town or go without. With a limited budget, it can be challenging for MEF to add additional programming on top of the activities they already support.
Our goal with the Marfa100 fundraiser is to raise $3000 to fund Driver’s Education facilitated by the Marfa Education Foundation.
Our donation page will remain open until October 19 with all donations going directly to MEF.
