Race with a Purpose!
Run for Mukhanyo is planned and organized by the students of Veritas School in collaboration with the Live Red Foundation (LRF) as a benefit for two great organizations - LRF and Mukhanyo Christian Academy. Each organization works to improve the lives of kids in local communities, from Richmond to South Africa.
LRF is a 501c3 corporation that was founded to offer free fitness programs, which teach 8 core life skills, to over 8,000 children in low-opportunity communities annually. According to Diversity Data Kids, children in these neighborhoods are 84% more likely to live in poverty as adults and have a life expectancy 8 years shorter than those in high opportunity neighborhoods. LRF uses fitness to give children hope.
Mukhanyo Christian Academy provides South African orphans in grades K-6 with education, meals, foster care, and social services, enabling these vulnerable children to create a future filled with hope: one that looks beyond daily survival to a joyful life of accomplishment and service. By providing South Africa’s youngest with a first-class education – one that targets the mind, body, and soul – Mukhanyo Christian Academy seeks to cultivate a new generation of community leaders.
This event is a fundraiser for each of these organizations, and we welcome any additional donations towards our mission.
