Event: Marathon Heavy March (Race Walk)
THIS RACE IS LIMITED TO 100 PARTICIPANTS. The Marathon Challenge March (Race Walk) includes each participant carrying a 15lbs. pack (not provided) of perishable canned foods to be donated to Homeless Veteran Shelters at the conclusion of the race. Participants will race 5 miles on a semi hard surface until reaching the coastline. The racers will than run 7 miles down the beach, turning around at a distinctive military marker, than head back up the beach for 7 miles. Once off the beach the participants will travel on a semi harden surface tracking through the historic Fort Miles. As you contemplate the challenge of racing in the sand, remember the deployed women and men walking and working in the sand every day. Your sacrifice will honor their service. The Marathon Virtual Race has unlimited participation. Every individual who registers and completes the event, during the designated time, may receive by mail a commemorative Race4Warriors challenge coin and T-Shirt. The coins are only guaranteed if registered by April 1, 2021. To complete the event participants must finish their category between May 13th (7:00 am) to May 16th (7:00 pm) of 2021. After completing the race, each individual MUST sign into RunSignUp (where you registered for the event) and post your times and a picture of your timing app results.
Participants in the virtual category will be competing against other virtual competitors for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. Individuals participating as a team must start the race at the same time, same location to be eligible. Those military individuals competing overseas, or as part of a social base event, please send an email to Contact@Race4Warriors.org with your address for a bulk shipment of shirts and coins.
