Miles for Smiles 5K Run/Walk
Miles for Smiles 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run Walk is an annual awareness and fundraising event Healthy Acadia's Downeast Oral Health Team in Hancock and Washington Counties This year's event will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, starting from Healthy Acadia, 140 State Street, Ellsworth, Maine.
Registration/check-in begins at 8 a.m. The 5K walk/run begins promptly at 9 a.m Registration fee is $25, $10 for students under age 18, entering the 5K event. The Run/Walk will start and finish at Healthy Acadia's office located at 140 State Street. Participants will head north on State Street, turn left onto Shore Road and proceed to the midway checkpoint established for each event (5K/1-mile) before reversing course to return to the start/finish line.
Pre-register by April 22, 2016 to reserve your Sports Pack! Limited to first 100 participants to register!
Race Features: Mile splits at 1.05. Water at miles 1 and finish. A fast downhill finish with many cheering spectators!
FOR INSURANCE AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, NO HEADPHONES or PETS ALLOWED ON THE RACE COURSE FOR EITHER RACE. Baby Strollers are allowed; please start in the back.
Awards for 5K: Top 1st female & male overall. Top 1st Walker & 1st Wheelchair.
Awards for Team: Top overall team. Top participant 1st & 2nd teams. Teams MUST pre-register by 4pm on May 9th. Unlimited number may register. Top 3 score by place of finish. Ties are determined by fastest cumulative times.
Awards - Best Costume(s): Best overall team costume, best overall adult, best overall, best overall youth, and best overall dental theme. Costumes will be judged and awards will be given at the beginning of the race.
