Walking Dead Marathon 5K Run/Walk

Parking Fee: $7.00 Entrance Fee into the Park, unless you have a annual pass, then it is free with your pass.

Our 5K charity run/walk is themed "Zombie Run for Your Life!" and is based on the television show "The Walking Dead." The event will be held at Lake St. Clair Metro Park in Harrison Township Michigan on October 26, 2014. Registration will begin at 3pm, and the run/walk will begin at 4:00pm.
Participants can dress like zombies, or in comfortable running attire.
Participants who would like to walk the 5K be sure to wear your Halloween costume to parade around the park!
We do not recommend wearing costumes if you are running in the race, unless your costume is comfortable and will not cause you to trip or fall, for example a princess gown would not be the best costume to run in. However, if you would like to come join the Halloween walk, we encourage wearing your costume and walk along beautiful Lake St. Clair Metro Park.
This 5K has a twist to it. The runners will begin with 3 flags on them and the zombies will attempt to "Flag" the runner by pulling the flags off of their waist. Once all three flags are taken by the zombies, then the participant must join the zombie apocalypse. Similar to the Walking Dead where the zombies bite the person and then the person turns into a zombie. The goal is to avoid being "flagged" and to pass the finish line. The excitement grows as the zombie mob gets bigger and bigger.
Some participants join the 5K to walk or run for the cause without participating in the game. These runners or walkers will not have flags on their waist.
The 5K is designed for all ages and all levels of training and all participants will receive medals upon completion of the 5K.
