The full swim course is 8.2 miles. Swimmers may choose to do 7 miles by negating the start loop.
If a swimmer feels they are unable to complete the swim OR chooses to swim less than 7 miles, they may get out whenever they choose and walk back to the start line. They must check-in with staff following exit and at the finish line table.

Mackinac Island Swim 2026 - Kayak Supporter
This is NOT for entry to swim the 2026 Mackinac Island Swim.
Select this event if you wish to be a KAYAK SUPPORTER for an individual swimmer or relay team. If you are already part of a relay (as a swimmer), but plan to use a kayak with your relay, you do NOT need to select this option. This is for individuals that are assisting from their kayak only.
Your event fee covers the cost of your kayak's transport to the island and for your post swim meal.
By selecting this event, you are agreeing to kayak the circumference of Mackinac Island (8.2 miles) as safety/support for a swimmer (or swim relay).

This is NOT for entry to swim the 2026 Mackinac Island Swim.
Select this event if you wish to be a LAND SUPPORTER for an individual swimmer or relay team.
Land supporters are responsible for following their swimmer around Mackinac Island via the island roadway and providing support from shore. This may include helping with nutrition, hydration, encouragement, and serving as an additional set of eyes on your swimmer throughout the event.
Land supporters play an important role in swimmer safety by monitoring their swimmer's progress and communicating any concerns to event staff, lifeguards, or medical personnel when necessary.
By selecting this event, you acknowledge that your role is to support and monitor a swimmer (or relay team) from shore for the duration of the event and to assist with communication should any safety concerns arise.
