ADEC Moving with Grief Challenge
Accurate information, timely psycho-education, and community support can go a long way in providing comfort to those who have lost a loved one. Especially for grievers who could benefit from counseling, it is critical that services are being rendered by competent, caring, and compassionate health and social care workers.
The reality, however, is that between 47% to 80% of palliative, death and bereavement care professionals are suffering from work-related stress, empathy fatigue, and debilitating burnout. Clearly, protecting the mental health and well-being of professional caregivers is an urgent global public health priority.
The Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) is the longest standing interdisciplinary organization in the field of dying, death and bereavement. The primary goal of ADEC is to enhance the ability of professionals to meet the needs of those with whom they work in death education and grief counseling.
The ADEC Moving with Grief Challenge is a new fundraising event with the goal to raise $30,000 for expanding the range of public education, professional training, and outreach initiates that the Association for Death Education and Counseling can offer. As we uplift the death literacy and grief literacy of professional caregivers, we are also building a more compassionate global community to better support the 335 million people coping with new loss and grief every year.
Join us in this meaningful event, strive towards the individual goal of reaching 335 miles in 50 days (walking/moving/elevation distance), while fundraising $30K for a very worthy cause in honor and support of all grieving individuals in the world.
Kindness in every Step. Compassion in every Move.
