History Run #4: Mafia Rerun - Feat. Bo Shoemaker
You asked for it, we delivered: that's right folks, it's time for another History Run with Bo Shoemaker! This time, we'll be learning about the history of the Mafia in Rochester. You'll learn about the Alphabet War, The Hammer Conspiracies, and other local history from the 1970's-80's!
There will be four stops along the route, where Bo will share interesting facts about the mysterious history of the Mafia in Rochester. Participants should be able to keep a 12:00 min/mile pace and will be able to regroup at each history stop before continuing.
This run will be 4 miles long, beginning and ending at Joey's on Main Street. Afterwards feel free to enjoy a beer and some food and continue talking about the Mafia, while maybe seeing a "history mystery" inside the bar itself!
The run will cost $5 and will be returned as a gift card to Rochester Running Company.
Bo Shoemaker has a M.A. in History, a law degree from Syracuse University, and currently works as an Appellate Court Attorney at the NYS Supreme Court. He's also the 8:00 min/mile pacer at our Saturday group runs!
