WHERE: Westchester Road Runner, 179 E. Post Rd., White Plains, NY 10601
It's half marathon time again. For some ungodly reason, you people enjoy torturing yourselves for amusement of pretty much only you. Let's be real. None of us are winning this race. Yet we still feel the drive to challenge our spirits with months of training and a very early wake up call on race day. So since you have this urge to run, we are happy to help out and get you to the start.
As usual, the plan is up for debate and change. (Wait. Strike that. No debate. What we say goes. It's one of the few banal ways I can enjoy some power that I'm not giving that away) At the moment, we will head to Brooklyn to the Grand Army Plaza. We will get you as close to the entrance to the park as we can where all wave 1 runners will disperse.
Once the Wave 1 humans vanish, we find a spot to sit with the bus for the later wave people to be able to stay warm and cozy, watch the various runners leaving the subway, laugh and mock them for not having a bus. People can leave as they so choose to make their wave.
By 8AM, the buses must be emptied and we are no longer your bus overlords.
As more info comes out, we will make any alterations necessary but regardless of any changes that may need to be made, we will get you to the start with joy and mostly in one piece.
We are basing these times and stops by the way it worked last year, but as NYRR releases more secret clues to how everything works, we will update everyone.
There is a bathroom on the bus.
Unfortunately, we will not be offering a return trip, so that means we cannot have anything left on the bus. The bus becomes a transport for wayward souls to the underworld. (Times are tough. Even bus companies have to take on side gigs.)
There is no street parking until 6am on any street in White Plains on Sundays so if you plan to leave your car, you will have to pull into the Lyon Place garage which is around the corner from the store and pay for enough parking until your return. You run the risk of a ticket from the WP Parking jerkfaces if you leave your car in street parking after we leave.
These tickets are non-refundable. So sign up on your own accord (not the car) but if you want to transfer it to someone else, just call us and let us know so we can keep a record of who should be on the bus.
