About the Seminar: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress. About the Seminar: Chronobiology is a field of biology that originated in the 18th century and centers on the study of circadian rhythms, the internal 24-hour biological “clocks” regulating activity, rest, and metabolic processes in all living organisms. Advances in science and technology have improved our understanding of the relationship between circadian rhythms and human health in recent decades. This seminar will include an examination of evidence linking circadian function and psychiatric disorders, possible directions for future research and discuss strategies targeting circadian function that are currently used in mental health settings.

Ethical cases will be discussed in the major areas of informed consent, multiple/dual relationships, confidentiality, duty to warn/duty to protect, record keeping, technology, and impaired practitioner. We will also discuss ethics around working with minors. An ethical decision-making model will be presented, and a documentation process will be discussed and practiced. Participants will leave this seminar with a better understanding and working knowledge of ethical decision making.
