WVS Valley's Fastest Man/Woman Mile Series

This series is open to anyone. You do not need to be a WVS member to run. You can however become a member or renew your membership during the checkout process. Online memberships are $7 per year and membership cards are sent within a week of receipt.

Race #1
The first race in the series, the mile on July 24 at 7:00 PM, takes place on an outdoor artificial surface all-weather track at King's College at 101 Highland Park Blvd, Wilkes-Barre Township, PA 18702. No hills, very little wind, perfect evening running conditions. No excuses! The race will be run in heats based on expected finishing time.

- Race day entry fee is $20 cash or check for everyone.

Race-day registration and packet pickup is at the race venue.

Parking is available in the campus parking lots.

Race #2
The second mile of the series takes place on August 8 at 7:00 PM, and will be run within the grounds of the Church Street Park on Church Street (just off of Third Ave) in Kingston PA. The course consists of an approximately half mile paved path around the perimeter of the park. The runners will make almost 2 complete laps to finish the mile.

This race is open to anyone. You do not need to be a WVS member to run. You can however become a member or renew your membership during the checkout process. Online memberships are $7 per year and membership cards are sent within a week of receipt.

- Race day entry fee is $20 cash or check for everyone.

Race-day registration and packet pickup takes place at the Kingston Recreation Park building located at 655 Third Ave, Kingston PA , just down the street from the race venue.

Parking is available at the Kingston Recreation Park building and limited parking at the Church Street park itself.

Race #3
The final in the series is the challenging Breaker Brewing Company Giants Despair Mile, contested on August 22 at 7:00 PM, over the famed Giants Despair Hill Climb course in Laurel Run PA.

This race is run over a paved road course, closed to traffic, and has 650 grueling feet of elevation climb over the mile distance.

The GPS coordinates for the race venue are 41°13'23.3"N 75°51'55.5"W.

Immediately after the race, all series entrants are invited to a FREE awards after-party inside Breaker Brewing Company where there will food and refreshments. There will be a healthy-choice food option and each runner will receive one drink chip, with the opportunity to purchase more drinks from the bar as desired. Runners who did not enter the entire series or who would like to bring others, can do so at a cost of $10.00 each. The party tickets can be added to your order at checkout.
