Speedyard (Fastest One Standing

The Speedyard is a shrinking clock elimination race on the certified 1.64 mile paved loop at Pace Bend Park. Every round is two loops, and every round starts on the horn at 10:30 AM whether you finished the last one with ten minutes to spare or ten seconds. Round 1 asks for 12:12 per mile, wide open to almost any runner. Round 7 asks for 7:37. Whatever time you save is the only rest you get, so speed buys recovery and going out hard buys nothing. Clear all seven rounds and you have earned a spot on the line at 2:30 PM for one final loop, flat out, fastest time takes the title. Fifteen loops, 24.6 miles, and a field capped at 75.

Pacer Registration (Marathon and Ultra Only)

The pacer fee includes:

Park entry fee (required by Pace Bend Park)
Event insurance coverage

Personal Pacer Policy
Registration & Payment

Personal pacers must register in advance through the race registration system
$15 fee per pacer, payable during registration
All pacers must sign the same liability waiver as participants
Each registered runner allowed one pacer on the course at any time

Pacer Rules

Pacers may join their runner at any point after the first loop
Pacers can rotate (different people can pace different loops) if each is registered and paid
Pacers must wear the official PACER bib at all times on course
Pacers must not physically assist their runner (no pushing/pulling)
Pacers must not block other participants or interfere with the race
Pacers may carry nutrition/hydration for their runner

Loop Format Advantages

The 1.55-mile loop format is ideal for personal pacers as they can:

Join/exit at the start/finish area without disrupting the course
Access the personal aid station area with the runner
Provide consistent feedback as runners learn the course



Boston Qualifier Considerations

For Boston Qualifier attempts, personal pacers are allowed under BAA rules
Documentation of pacer participation will be maintained for verification if needed.
