THE POVERTY WALK CHALLENGE 4 AFRICA
The Poverty Walk Challenge 4 Africa is also a Fundraising Event. We encourage all participants to click on the tab " become a fundraiser". Your fundraising efforts will help Games For Africa provide STEM education and personalized academic support to hundreds of K12 students in Benin, Togo, and Cote d'Ivoire through its STEM Centers and Academic Center For Excellence & Youth Leadership. Here is the fundraising for each level of participation:
1. Family Fitness: each family (i.e K12 students, their parents, and relatives) is encouraged to raise $100.
2. Intermediate: Each college student or adult is encouraged to raise $25
3. Advanced: Each college student or adult is encouraged to raise $50
Participants can start fundraising when registration starts on March 1st, 2022.
Here is how your fundraising will help:
1. $ 40 per month to support one (1) student per month, $480 will support one (1) student for 1 year to participate in Games For Africa STEM Center and personalized academic support through our Academic Center for Excellence and Youth Leadership.
2. A portion of the funds raised will be allocated towards the purchase of a bus to transport K12 school students from the villages of Drissafogo, Tongon, Kationron, and surrounding villages in the region of M'Bengue, in the north of Cote d'Ivoire, who walk 5-10 miles on unsafe roads where elementary and middle school girls are at the mercy of sexual predators.

A Conversation About Africa
A Conversation About Africa is a virtual and FREE event that occurs every Saturday via ZOOM in the month of February and March from, 03/05-04/02/2022. The purposes of this initiative are to:
1. educate K12 students, college students, civic groups, and professionals from walks of life about the challenges facing K12 students and adults across Africa.
2. learn about what Games For Africa are doing to address the inequities in education and combat poverty in Africa.
3. To learn about the success stories in Africa, its growth, challenges, and answer any questions that anyone may have about Africa with the outcome to dismantle the stereotypes about Africa.
A Conversation About Africa is the brainchild of Dr. Darius Coulibaly, abolitionist educator & economist, and founder of Games For Africa. Dr. Coulibaly will moderate the conversation and will be assisted by the Games For Africa staff in Benin, Togo, and Cote d'Ivoire as well as the students we serve in these 3 countries.
