Bike Ride. Mettle (n. Courage and fortitude) is a goal of physical and spiritual strengthening. Ride on the Great Dismal Swamp trail or other locations as a FLY group. (20 miles/ride or actual miles, whichever is greater). Add to your miles each time you journey farther, up to a total 100 miles.

Event: Be Still/Stretch Yourself—Prayer, yoga, kindness to self challenge

Prayer, yoga, kindness to self challenge. Keep a log of prayer concerns and answered prayer; and/or log challenges and results of yoga sessions with an online instructor such as Adriene Mishler and her dog Benji. Event: Writing/Photography journal—Record your progress along the journey

Record your progress along the journey. Suggestions: Try a recipe from one of the states from Virginia to Minnesota and upload a photo. Talk up a tourist site marked on the challenge map from Norfolk to Minneapolis—or choose others along the way and describe it in the Comments of your Results page. Create a rap, song, or dance move that represents something about the journey to Minneapolis. Variety is the spice of life. Your reward for participating in a variety of Pilgrimage events, allowing yourself to grow in various aspects of your life, is great! For participating in 5 or 6 different events, you receive a 100-mile bonus; in 7 or 8 events, a 200-mile bonus; and in 9 or 10 events, a 300-mile bonus.
