Miles on Main Series - The Revolutionary Run

It’s your time to shine like a sparkler on beautiful Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia. Walk or run this 4th of July themed event! Like our forefathers, you will head west from the start and finish line at Tazewell County Public Library. Instead of crossing the Atlantic, you will be crossing Main Street. As you descend on West Main Street, you’ll be surrounded by the tranquility that our Main Street offers during the summer. What could be more American than baseball?! It’s batter up as you reach the halfway point around the Little League Fields. As you tackle the big hill back on to central Main Street, watch out for a surprise! Finish strong, as you race towards the finish line back at the library. Victory is yours! ‘MERICA!

Like our forefathers, you will head west from the start line at Tazewell County Public Library.  Instead of crossing the Atlantic, you will be crossing beautiful Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia.  The first leg of this journey, at just a little over one mile, is a steady decline in elevation to help you establish your race pace.  For the next mile, you will encounter some rocky waves. Once you have crossed the pond--Seven Springs Trout Pond, that is--or in this case passed beside it on the road, you are almost to the 2 mile turn around spot. As you turn around, prepare for battle and charge the enemy full steam ahead, declining and then suddenly facing some challenging hills on your way back to Main Street.  Be prepared for enemy fire (hills) as you begin your final ascent onto central Main Street!  Alas, you are at the final stretch and can sprint across the finish line back at the mini park.  Victory is yours!  ‘MERICA! Running, or Run/Walking encouraged! Run/Walkers are asked to try to maintain a 16:00 min/mile pace.
