Keeping Your Distance Virtual 5K (Dynamically Scored Event)

This is the second of our FREE virtual races for the running community while we are social distancing due to the covid 19 pandemic.    We are excited to be scoring this event using AccuChip Virtual, our new, Dynamic Scoring Platform which features a live leaderboard updated every 2 minutes with real-time tabulation of overall, gender and age group categories.    Our proprietary platform automates the scoring process and gives runners the immediate feedback they crave on how they are performing against other runners in the virtual event.   

To participate, just register on-line between now and Friday, April 24th at 5:00 p.m. EST.     At 6:00 p.m. we will post an open results' page at www.accuchiptiming.com with a full list of all virtual registered runners. 

On Saturday (April 25), just run and track your 5K (3.1 miles) running time and then submit it on the open results' page using the Enter Time icon next to your name.   The deadline to submit your time is noon (12:00 pm. EST) on Saturday, April 25th.    Once the countdown clock reaches zero, no more times will be accepted and the race will be finalized.

If you run with a GPS watch or fitness app on your phone, we encourage you to upload the weblink to your course map from the app (not required).    Your course map will be viewable for everyone to see.  We accept personal map links from the following fitness apps ... Strava, Garmin, Polar, MapMyRun, RunKeeper, MovesCount, EndoMondo and TomTom Sports.    

Everyone is asked to report their times using the honor system and avoid embellishment.  Results will be automatically tabulated by the following age group categories:  9 and under; 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84 and 85+.     

No performance based awards but everyone who participates and posts their time will be entered into a random drawing for free race entries to some of AccuChip's upcoming live race events once race season resumes. 

Results will let you see how you are faring against other runners all while maintaining a safe, social distance while running.  Don’t forget to tag us on social media using the hashtag #accuchiptiming if you take a selfie on your run.  Looking forward to seeing you all virtually at the race!!
