Description

Each year CORA Physical Therapy chooses one model patient who demonstrates that CORA is connecting communities with purpose. That patient is highlighted and chooses a charity of their choice.

This year we chose Lt Col Chuck, a retired Airborne Army Ranger, who demonstrated extreme motivation in his fight against ALS. ALL proceeds from this race(s) will benefit Chuck's charity of choice, I am ALS [IamALS.org].

The 2021 5K in JAX will be at Episcopal High School.  There will be multiple heats/waves of 5km's based on time. Each wave will be limited to 50 people. The date is Saturday October 9, 2021, which is also Physical Therapy Day of Service. CORA Physical Therapy encourages an active lifestyle. We are looking for active people who also want to support Chuck and the fight against ALS.

BENEFITING

Each year CORA Physical Therapy chooses one model patient who demonstrates that CORA is connecting communities with purpose. That patient is highlighted and chooses a charity of their choice.

This year we chose Lt Col Chuck, a retired Airborne Army Ranger, who demonstrated extreme motivation in his fight against ALS. ALL proceeds from this race will benefit Chuck's charity of choice, I am ALS [IamALS.org].

The 2021 5K will be VIRTUAL; this means you can complete your event ANYWHERE: at home, at work, on the beach, on a trail, on a treadmill. It's up to you. The date is focused on Saturday October 9, 2021, which is also Physical Therapy Day of Service, but the virtual race will be open from October 9 to October 31, 2021. CORA Physical Therapy encourages an active lifestyle, so the 5K can be done as a run, walk, bike, swim, or any combination of the above. We are looking for active people who also want to support Chuck and the fight against ALS.

SWAG

Every registered runner will receive a race t-shirt in their size if registered by 10/01/2021

RACE WAVE INFORMATION

The event will be setup in timed waves of a limit of 50 people. We will have pacers set to pace each race at the desired time goal. By no means does this mean you cannot go faster than the pacer but chose the event/wave closest to your desired goal time. Below are the waves and start times:

Sub 19 mins - 8:00am
Sub 20mins - 8:25am
Sub 22mins - 8:50am
Sub 25mins - 9:20am
Sub 30mins - 9:50am

AWARDS

We will be awarding the top three male and female in each of the timed waves.
