Description
Touching Miami with Love (TML) was founded in 1995. As a community-based organization, TML operates sites in two of Miami-Dade’s most economically challenged communities, Overtown and West Homestead. TML serves nearly 400 children and youth each day through its programming. TML seeks to nurture future leaders, who will make a lasting impact in our local communities. This is accomplished by providing high-quality, year-long support through holistic programs that meet the spiritual, educational, social, and emotional needs of our children, youth and their families.
In celebration of our 25 years of serving the Miami community, we are hosting a virtual competition in support of our summer activities and after school program.
WHAT: A virtual competition over three days to complete at least 25 miles (see scale below) by walking, running, swimming, or biking, while raising funds towards your target goal.
WHY (Purpose): Raise added funds to increase spacing for summer and future programs, which adhere to the strict guidelines of the CDC as a result of COVID-19. Our goal is to help our kids stay connected and safe while having fun.
When: August 7th - August 9th
Races Commence: August 7th - 5:00am
Races Conclude: August 9th - 10pm
Register: runsignup.com/TML25
How it works?
Competitors will run, walk, swim or bike a total of 25 miles over three days, with the goal of raising $500 for those in TML 25 and Advanced Challenge; and a goal of $1,000 for the team challenge. Each competitor or team will share details of the race with their community, and encouraging supporters to help in achieving your individual or teams goal. A fundraising link with instructions will be provided upon registration.
Competitors Choice(Do You): Stick to one Exercise or Mix and Match
In order to provide an optimal experience for all competitors, we’ve broken down the competition to suit the personal preference of the competitor. Focus on one exercise or mix & match—whatever gets you to 25 miles or 35 in the advanced challenge.
Run, Cycle, Spin, Class, Outdoor Walk, Indoor Walk, Track Steps, Open Swim, Pool…etc
*Instructions on how to properly log and track your pace will be provided.
