The First Annual Great Ozona Pumpkin Run ~ VIRTUAL 5K/1M Run, Walk, & Roll & Tough Ozzie Challenge
November 12th 2020 – November 15th 2020

Anywhere you'd like! Due to COVID19 risks and protocols, we have gone VIRTUAL!

RACE
Calling all Ozona Elementary Family & Friends, we are excited to bring you our first ever Great Ozona Pumpkin Run sponsored by Ozona Elementary PTA, and hosted VIRTUALLY!  This 5K/1M/Tough Ozzie Challenge Event will launch in place of our Annual Fall Festival, as we continue to keep our community safe and still bring on the fun!  We welcome you, your family & friends (both near and far) to participate as it’s our first time attempting this event, and we couldn’t be more thrilled, so run, walk & roll to earn your medal!
 
Proceeds will benefit all students at Ozona Elementary in multiple ways, including in person & virtual learning programs.  With Ozona PTA support, all students have access to enhanced learning experiences beyond the academics, through technology, special activities (Art, Music, PE) & other enrichment happenings. 
 
The first 200 registered participants will receive an Event T-Shirt, which will be shipped out after the event.  Participants who do not register by 11/06 are not guaranteed a T-shirt.
 
PROCEEDS BENEFIT
All Students at Ozona Elementary School, located in Palm Harbor, FL.  Proceeds include Registration fees, additional T-shirt sales and donations minus the cost to host this event, which is sponsored by the Ozona Elementary PTA.

How long is the course?
5K is 3.1 miles and open to all ages. We will also have a 1 mile fun run/walk for our participants under the age of 18.  The Tough Ozzie is a distance challenge for experienced runners. 
 
How does The Great Ozona Pumpkin Run VIRTUAL 5K/1M Run/Walk/Roll & Tough Ozzie work?
The Great Ozona Pumpkin Run is an event that all participants will complete on their own. Participants can select a preferred running, walking or wheeled path location and complete their 5K/1M/Tough Ozzie event at the mall, on a track, around your neighborhood, in your gym, on your treadmill ~ where ever you want! Once you complete your 5K/1M/Tough Ozzie distance, post a completion post in our Great Ozona Pumpkin Run Facebook Group.  We want to see those pictures!
 
Is there an official Facebook Group?
Yes, there is!  Go to our Great Ozona Pumpkin Run Facebook Event Page at www.facebook.com/groups/327465348560320 . We will also post details on our Ozona Elementary PTA Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/OEPTA/. Both our Event Page and our PTA Facebook page are great ways to connect with other participants as well as find motivation and support.
 
How will I be timed and where can I log my activity?
You can use a Fitness Apps like Apple Health and wearables like Fitbit, Garmin, and Suunto watches are a great way to track your daily mileage. Tracking app is required for Tough Ozzie Challenge only. You can also manually uploaded you activity.  

Who gets a T-shirt?
The first 200 registrants who have successfully completed the registration and payment process by November 6th are guaranteed a free event t-shirt. We plan to have the T-shirts the week of November 15th, for local pick up.  Additional T-shirts will be available for purchase and shipping is an option in our Store, if you're in need.  All proceeds received go towards this Ozona PTA fundraiser event.
 
When do I receive my swag?
This year we will be providing everyone a participation medal in lieu of swag bags. These will be available for local pick up during the week of November 15th.  Further details to be emailed once a drive thru date has been scheduled at the school.  A shipping option is available in our Store if you would like the item shipped.  The top 10 distance runners in our Tough Ozzie challenge will be provided a certificate along with bragging rights as The 2020 Toughest Ozzie Award winner!
 
Is there a designated hashtag for The Great Ozona Pumpkin Run Virtual 5K/1M & Tough Ozzie Event?
There most definitely is! Use the #GreatOzonaPumpkinRun hashtags on your social media posts. Feel free to also tag us @ozonapta on Instagram!
 
Can I participate in the event with my dog?
Since our event is virtual, we would love pictures of your furry friends running, walking or rolling with you!
 
Can I participate with a stroller?
Yes, just like your fur friends, we encourage pictures of your kids joining you!  
 
I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration, and since we are doing it virtually, you can get a group of friends together in different parts of the country to run or walk! There are no refunds.
 
Will the race be held if it's raining?
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.  
 
Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a strict NO REFUND & NO TRANSFER policy.
