What is Frosty’s Freezer?
First, it is not the Frosty 5K!
Frosty's Freezer is a celebration of previous Frosty 5K’s. It is a chip timed 5K with age group and overall awards and post-race refreshments but with less fanfare than December’s Frosty 5K but the quality and attention to serving the participant you've come to expect from Active Suncoast events.
Each finisher will get a finisher's medal, you get to choose your own from past years' Frosty 5K's. And there will be shirts, hats and socks, all from Frosty's Freezer of the past 9 years. Each participant will be able to select their own on a first-come, first-served basis. We can't guarantee your size will be available in each item but there's an assortment of sizes and styles, and quantity from each year vast enough that we think everyone will find something; the shirt from a year you missed, one to replace your favorite worn-out shirt, or the hat or socks you wish you had.

Course
A 5K course starting on Circus Boulevard through the Glen Oaks Estates neighborhood and back to the Sarasota Event Center at the Sahib Shrine for post-race refreshments and awards.
NOTE: Participants on pace to take more than an hour for the 5K will use the sidewalk along Circus Blvd to finish the last 6/10's of a mile of the race. Volunteers will direct participants who reach the exit to Glen Oaks (about mile 2.5) later than 8:15 a.m. to the sidewalk.
Trivia: Glen Oaks is on the land that was the Winter Home of the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus from 1927 to 1960.

Arrival & Parking
The Sarasota Event Center/Sahib Shrine is off Beneva Road between Fruitville Road and 17th Street. From Beneva Road you will access the parking at the Event Center/Sahib Shrine from the main entrance just north of Circus Boulevard. Please note that Circus Boulevard will be closed to thru-traffic from 7:15 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. for Frosty's Freezer. Please don't wait until the last minute to arrive and for your easiest arrival and to avoid delays and backups on Circus, we request you avoid Circus Boulevard for your arrival since the traffic signal for the left turn onto Beneva Road is quite lengthy.
