Welcome to the First Ever Virtual Edition of the Bluebird Run and Walk for Brookie B, the annual Labor Day community event for suicide awareness and prevention since 2015. Our Team at NAMI Tallahassee (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is excited to invite you to participate in this new version of our traditional Labor Day gathering.
This virtual event closes Labor Day September 7 at High Noon. The Facebook Live Drawing for Cash and Prizes is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
Please be sure to visit our website at www.BluebirdRun.com to discover more about this unique event and its purpose.
Did you know that Leon County Parks has designated and marked a permanent Bluebird Trail At JR Alford Greenway based on our annual 5K run/walk? We are literally on the map. They made a small adjustment at the start to accommodate their regular mowing patterns and added a small jog a little past our one mile mark. So the official county Bluebird Trail is either 3.3 miles or 3.5 miles, depending on which sign you believe. Although it will not be a measured 5K, it is marked and available during all daylight hours. So get out there and enjoy!
If you want to compare your virtual time to your previous actual runs, the original 5K trail course is on MapMyRun and all previous results are on www.BluebirdRun.com. So you can go out to the Greenway, turn on your GPS, run (or walk) the actual Bluebird Run 5K and share your experience with other Bluebirders. It's the next best thing to our annual intimate gathering of 500 people at the Greenway on Labor Day. Not even a worldwide pandemic is going to stop us. When you register you will receive instructions for uploading your results to RunSignUp.
To be eligible for the grand prize drawing you must submit your picture wearing your 2020 Bluebird Shirt to one of these social media sites:

Your shirt will be mailed to you in time to provide an opportunity for you to don your new 2020 Bluebird shirt, get some exercise and submit photos.
