Description
This event, which includes an 8K, a 5K and a 3K, has become the kickoff for the high-school cross-country season and the signal for GWTC members that it’s time to start racing again after a summer hiatus. The race is a great chance for GWTC members and local high-school runners to mix it up together. Jeanne O'Kon, Tom Perkins and Bill Lott have teamed up as race directors to create a great event that gives you a real taste of Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park.

Race Fees and Donations
REGISTRATION OPENS ON JUNE 15
Before Race Day
Age 18 and under: No fee. minimum of 4 cans of food (includes shirt)
Over Age 18: $20.00 donation and minimum of 2 cans of food (includes shirt)
No T-shirt option: $15.00 donation and minimum of 2 cans of food (no shirt)
Race Day
Age 18 and under: $5.00 and a minimum of 4 cans of food
Over Age 18: $25.00 and a minimum of 2 cans of food (includes shirt - but shirt not guaranteed)
No T-Shirt Option: $20.00 donation and minimum of 2 cans of food
All canned food donations go to Second Harvest of the Big Bend.
All monetary proceeds benefit the GWTC Chenoweth Endowment Fund.
T-shirts are guaranteed only for those pre-registered by Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. .
Grand Prix
The 8K has been designated a GWTC Adult Grand Prix event for GWTC members.
Packet Pickup
Register and/or pick up your packet and drop off food items early on Wednesday, August 9, and Thursday, August 10, at Cadence Running, 2743 Capital Circle NE, #103, from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Race Day registration and packet pick-up begins at race site at 6:30 a.m. Bring your canned food donations on race day!
High School and Middle School Teams
High school age and middle school age club teams may compete for team awards in the 5K and 3K races, respectively. Team members must enter team name when registering. Each participant is required to register and submit a signed, completed waiver.

Medals provided to all finishers by Awards4U
Race Proceeds
All donated food items will go to Second Harvest of the Big Bend Food Bank.
Monetary proceeds benefit the Gulf Winds Track Club Chenoweth Endowment Fund.
