Description

PLEASE READ:

NeoEndurance Family,

As many of you know, the health and well-being of our runners, walkers, and community members is our number one priority. With the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19, we have given this great thought.

At the advice of Governor DeSantis, Mayor Castor, and the City of Tampa, we have decided to change the terms of the 3rd Annual Leprechaun's Run Presented by 1Focus. No, we are not cancelling, we are just switching up the terms and conditions.

We are going to move the event as a whole to a Virtual Run. The goal is to have as many people as possible run this race virtually with us next Saturday, March 21, 2020. We will launch a Strava Event for all of you to register and cheer each other on without being next to one another and potentially contracting an illness. Then you can post a finish line picture with your medals.

**Please note, you can run this whenever you like. It does not have to be the 21st.

WE WILL STILL BE SENDING YOU YOUR MEDALS!! For those of you that have not picked up your bibs and shirts, you will receive those as well. If you're looking at doing the Leprechaun's and Cole's Challenge for the seventh medal, you ARE still eligible!

In addition, we are going to be offering a 25% discount for future races for those registered for Leprechaun’s run. We will send out the code very soon, so stay tuned.

Again, while we are very saddened by this unfortunate turn of events, we hope you will stand by us as we do everything we can to do right by our community. While this was going to be our first race as your new Directors, Barbie and I have been hard at work learning what Edmund and Beth have built so we can continue their awesome message of inspiring you to challenge yourself to achieve your goals.

If you have any questions at all, please email me or Barbie. Thank you all for your continued support!

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day weekend on Saturday, March 14th, 2020!!

Bring the entire family and celebrate St. Patrick's day with runs and games for the kids! Register to run either a 5k (you can also walk this!), 10k, Challenge (5k+10k) or sign your kids up for a 100 meter dash at Al Lopez Park in Tampa, FL.

The kids run will be conducted on the grass near shelter 315.  Ages 2-10 only, please!

The entire family can enjoy this event that includes family live music, a kids run, and children games.

What do I get?

Everyone will receive a custom T-Shirt, bib with timing chip, and grab bag.

Finishers will earn a custom themed medal and a certified time.  This event is chip-timed!

Virtual runners will have their shirt and medal mailed to them directly after the race.  Please allow 2-3 business days for your package to arrive!

***Every child registered to run in the kid's fun run will receive a custom medal***

What's Allowed?

  • Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed on this course, but participants MUST stay to the right of the path to allow for passers.
  • Service animals.
  • Headphones are authorized, but we ask that you keep to a volume that allows you to hear race and park officials.
  • Children older than 6, can run the 5k. Children under 10 cannot run the 10k or the Challenge strictly for safety reasons.

What's NOT Allowed on the course?

  • Pets (except certified service animals).
  • Double-wide (or wider) strollers.  At some points on the course, the path isn't wide enough for three adults.
  • Skateboards, bicycles, tricycles, skates, etc...
  • Bandits.  If you're not wearing a bib at the finish line, you won't get a medal!

Chip-Timed!

This event is timed. Every bib will have a chip fixed on back. DO NOT remove the chip! Try to avoid running belts covering the bib or having phone/metallic items covering chip/bib to avoid mis-read. The best way to avoid a mis-read is to wear the bib front and center!

Military Discount Available

We support the U.S. Armed Forces, and we want to give back.

If you're a military service member, reservist, or a veteran of the U.S. military, you get a 20% discount on your registration. To qualify for this discount, you'll be required to show one of the following forms of identification to the volunteers at the registration tent. Without these documents, you will be banned from future NeoEndurance races.

  1. Military CAC ID (must not say "Civilian" or "Contractor")
  2. Retiree ID Card
  3. Veteran Affairs ID Card
  4. Driver's License with "V" symbol.

A DD-214 alone is not sufficient without photo identification that matches your document.  In an effort to prevent fraud and abuse of this program, while ensuring that military service members and veterans are recognized for their services, you'll be asked to show one of the above forms of ID when you pick up your bib packet. Use the promo code MILITARY20 at checkout.

Weather

This is a rain or shine event.  We don't anticipate a drastic temperature in weather.  It is, afterall, the "Sunshine State".  However, in the unusual circumstance that this event is cancelled due to extreme weather (hurricane or heavy unrelenting downpour), there will be NO REFUND!  Instead, we will reschedule the event to the next available weekend.

If, in the unlikely event that we have to reschedule the event to another weekend and participants are unable to make the new date, they have several options which can all be done by the runner under "Race Management" in their RunSignUp profile:

  1. Transfer your registration to another event in the same year (we have many events in the Tampa area!).
  2. Sell your bib to another runner for a refund (there's a $5 fee for this and the recipient must complete the registration).
  3. Gift your bib to another runner w/ NO refund.

In the event of lightening in the area, we will postpone the event by an hour, possibly longer, or until the "all-clear" is given by park and race officials.

Parking

There's free parking at the park, but spaces are limited.  It's highly encouraged that you carpool or share-ride to Al Lopez Park.

Mission 22 is a non-profit who combats the ever-rising veteran suicide rate. Every day, more than twenty veterans are lost to suicide. Mission 22 wants to bring that number to zero. It does this with three main programs; veteran treatment programs, memorials and national awareness. Mission 22 provides treatment programs to veterans for Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and other issues they might be facing. It organizes events and builds memorials to create social impact and awareness for these issues. Mission 22 serves combat veterans, those injured in training who therefor could not deploy and victims of MST. Mission 22 also has an Ambassador volunteer program for people to get involved as well. Ambassadors educate the public on veteran issues, help get veterans into Mission 22 treatment programs and create resources in their communities. Through these three programs, it enables a push for the betterment of our nation's heroes and stands united in the war against veteran suicide.

Elderheart Inc. is the 501C3 behind Mission 22. Its Board of Directors is comprised of Special Forces operators Magnus Johnson, and Mike Kissel and Infantryman Brad Hubbard. Because of their personal battles with PTSD and TBI they have made it their mission to raise awareness, enlist support, and end veteran suicide in America.
