How long is the run route?
2.69 miles
Will there be security at the event?
Yes, The Sumter Police Department will be providing security along the route and during the RAVE.
Will alcohol be available for purchase?
Alcohol purchase is available to participants who bought the Party Harder Package.
What do I do if I have a question while at the event?
Look for the “STAFF” shirts! They can assist you with any questions and give help.
Where do I register?
Registration is online or in person at Day-of-Registration in the USC Sumter Nettles Building Gym.
Where are the bathrooms?
Located in the lobby of the Nettles Building where registration is held. On the left in the lobby.
If I have certain medical conditions, should I participate?
People who have Epilepsy may not want to participate in the Rave due to the flashing/strobe lights.
Where do I park?
Parking will be in each parking lot around the USC Sumter Campus. There are people positioned at each parking lot to assist with parking and directions.
Where can I buy Run and Rave merchandise?
Purchase your Rave gear in our online store at runsignup.com!
Do you accept payment with credit cards?
Yes, we take Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
Do you accept checks?
Yes, we accept personal checks. There is a fee associated with any returned check.
What happens if I need medical help?
There is medical staff on standby during the entire event. Simply tell someone in a “STAFF” shirt and we will get your help. There is stationary medical under the white tent.
Where can I get water?
Water bottles will be given out during the race and at the after party. They will be in coolers.
Where are the bombing stations on the route?
There is no color thrown along the route.
What items are you selling and where can I purchase them?
Everything we are selling is on our store page.
Do I have to where the super cool bracelet given to me?
Yes! This is how we know who can enter the party.
I’ve already picked up my race packet. Where is the check in station for my bracelet?
This information will be provided in your run packet.
Do you have anything to eat?
There will be food available for purchase.
What do the proceeds benefit?
All proceeds benefit the USC Sumter Athletics Department.
Are there refunds?
There are certain situations where we will issue refunds. Contact us if you need a refund.
Is it timed?
This is not a sanctioned or timed race however the faster you finish the 2.69 miles the faster you can start Raving!!
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed
Is there a charge for parking?
No, parking is free!
What comes with my entry fee?
Participants will have the choice to run and/or rave (party) as well as receive a packet with a safety reflective light (that needs to be worn if you choose to run), sponsor information, Glow Glasses, Glow Stick, and surprise items.
Can I get a friends packet?
Yes!
When and where can I get my packet?
Packet pickup is available on May 12 from noon to 8pm and May 13 from 4pm to 7:15pm in USC Sumter’s Nettles Building Gym. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR PACKET NO LATER THAN 7:15PM ON MAY 13.
Are cameras and phones safe to have throughout the run?
We will have our own photographers throughout the course. However, if you would like to take some candid pics on your phone or camera, please feel free. We recommend that you cover it with plastic wrap!
Does the color or paint mess up my car seats?
Not at all! Just bring some towels to sit on just in case. It’s like riding home from the day at the beach or pool!
Is this paint harmful and does it dry quickly?
The paint we use is non-toxic and won’t harm you. It is safe to use on skin and clothes. The paint tastes … well it tastes like paint, so we don’t recommend eating or drinking it.
Can anyone come to the run or is it only for 21 and over?
The Run and Rave is for everyone! We have packages for all types. All are welcome. Only 21 and older adults will have the ability to purchase the Party Harder Package. ID’s and Driver’s Licenses will be checked before and during the event.
Do we have cleaning stations?
We recommend bringing a towel or change of clothes if you don’t want to share all your colorfulness with your car. There are no specific cleaning stations.
Are spectators allowed?
Spectators are encouraged along the route however, all wanting to participate in the Rave will have to purchase a ticket.
Can I transfer my registration to another person?
There are certain situations when your registration can be transferred. Contact us if you’re interested in transferring your registration.
Weather Policies
Run & Rave participant’s safety is the most important on our list! If any of the threatening weather conditions listed below are present the day of the event, the event may be delayed or canceled.
Epic Glow Run will be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist:
· Tornado Warning/Watch
· Thunderstorm/Electrical Storm
· “Heavy” Rain
· Other major weather conditions
Authority to Cancel the Event
The Run Director, in accordance with the city and the local law enforcement, has the authority to cancel the event. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds will be provided.
