Description
During this time of self isolation, it is important to remember that while we can't run as a group we are still connected. Therefore, the Athens Road Runners (ARR) created the virtual ARR Solo, But Never Alone 5k/10k as a way to show unity and help provide a goal to push for. Registered participants will have from April 25, 2020 through May 10, 2020 to complete either a 5k or a 10k.
In attempts to create a feeling of oneness, there will be a Facebook Profile Banner and Instagram Sticker created for those to show off their participation. Additionally, a medal can be purchased for $10.00 and will be mailed to you after May 10th. Anyone can participate, but medals can ONLY be mailed within Georgia
While this race can be run anywhere, we created "off the beaten path" route suggestions that we feel are 1.) a little less traveled, 2.) wide enough streets to help maintain distance from others, and 3.) prevent you from having to cross major roads. Unfortunately, the neighborhoods mean hills (though the 5k has less elevation that the UGA courses)
