Description
"Closing the Gap "Virtual 5K
The African American Male Wellness Agency and 100 Black Men of Atlanta are co-sponsoring a live 5K entitled "Closing the Gap." This live event will take place on Saturday, September 24th, at Friendship Baptist Church (80 Walnut St SW, Atlanta, GA 30314), 7 AM - 12 PM. This Virtual 5K, co-sponsored by the American Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (APTA-GA) will accompany the live event. Registration for the Virtual 5K is Free, but we kindly ask you to consider donating $15 to the African American Male Wellness Agency.
A virtual race allows you to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. You can run, jog, or walk on the trail, on the road, on the treadmill, at the gym, at home, or even at another race. And you can run or walk alone or with friends and family!
Post your time: Tag @apta_ga and use the hashtag #AARemoteWalk
Both the virtual 5K and live event will celebrate Black males as well as improve awareness of and responses to health disparities, including physical health and wellness. Registration is FREE, but we kindly ask you to consider donating. Your participation and donations will benefit the African American Male Wellness Agency's mission to increase the life expectancy of African American males with programming for physical health, mental health, financial health, and fatherhood.
