Our 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration is upon us! Join us for a virtual 5k to raise funds for the Black Women's Health Imperative and raise awareness of Juneteenth! This Juneteenth (June 19th, 2021) help us celebrate the 153rd anniversary of the day enslaved black people in Galveston, Texas, became Americans under the law, and has become an observance of the end of slavery in the US. Freedom is a journey we take together as a country, and this race is a reminder of our commitment together. Organized by the Black Voices CRG of RSI.
Registration is open from June 2nd – June 30th. There are two registration options: $25 with no swag or $35 with swag! Not a runner? No worries, feel free to walk, swim, ride, hike, or dance instead! The main focus of this event is to raise funds for the Black Women's Health Imperative.

PICK A DAY AND DO IT
Run, walk, swim, ride, hike, or dance any day within the run period (June 11-17). You can start and finish your race wherever you want.
Step 1: Download the app or go to strava.com and create an account. There is no need to purchase the premium version for the purpose of this race.
Step 2: Search for the “RSI Inclusion Network” club in the app or go to https://www.strava.com/clubs/rsiinclusionnetwork and join the club.
Once you have joined the club, you can access it by going to “clubs” in the app (top right). In the club feed, you can see activities from other racers as well as leaderboards and posts.
To record your own activity, select “Record” (bottom center)*. From there, you can start and stop your run/walk and see your stats as you go.
Once you’ve completed your activity, click “Finish.” This will take you to a screen where you can name your activity and even add photos or a description that you’d like to share! You can also change who can see your activity (everyone, just followers, or only you), it’s important that when you record your race activity that it is visible to everyone. When you are happy with your activity, select “Save” (top right).
*Strava also works with several smartwatches and can automatically sync your activity to Strava. Just be sure to go into the app and associate the activity with our race!
Step 3: Race weekend! Record your activity Friday, June 11 at 8 a.m. ET and Thursday, June 17 at 8 p.m. (for best results, we suggest that you pre-plan your route). Be sure to include “5K Run” or 5K Dance” or "5K <activity>", in the title of your activity to ensure we record your time.
STEP 4: CELEBRATE WITH US at our 3rd Annual Juneteenth Event
Log in on Friday, June 18 (meeting invite to follow) for a special thank you and maybe a few other surprises.
Additional commemorative t-shirts are available for purchase if physical activity isn't really on your agenda for the week.
