Description
The Mogadishu Mile refers to a mile-long run by members of 3d Ranger Battalion, from a helicopter crash site to the Pakistani Stadium in Mogadishu, Somalia, during the Battle of Mogadishu on October 3-4, 1993, a scene depicted by filmmakers in the movie “Black Hawk Down.” The Mogadishu Mile Memorial 5K Run commemorates our Nation’s fallen heroes killed during that operation, and raises money in support of Rangers and their families.
All funds from the event are donated to 2nd HOOAH of Georgia, a Non-Profit Organization that supports Rangers and their families.
