Description
In response to COVID-19 and in the interest of health and safety, we have decided that rather than cancel or postpone the race, the Sheepdog Scamper & Sprint is going VIRTUAL. We hope that you continue to encourage friends and family to signup, donate, share, and join us virtually! So, lace up your shoes and get out there on your own or in small groups to do a 5k run or walk between August 30th and September 6th. You will receive an email with a link to submit your results.
Sheepdog Connection was established to honor the life of Ryan FitzGerald - We lovingly called Ryan a “sheepdog” because he had an attitude of service above self, he was intensely loyal, and he protected, supported and encouraged people around him.
We provide opportunities through our partner organizations for young people to experience the trips that helped to form who Ryan was as a young man and a Sheepdog. Our partners include:
- Christ in the Rockies, a Father-Son passage to manhood camp in Colorado
- Christ in the Smokies, a Father-Son passage to manhood camp in Highlands Ranch NC
- Hands of Love USA - Two week summer mission trip to 2 orphanages in Uganda
- North Point Ministries - GlobalX - Two-week mission trip to establish the new leaders in Uganda through the creation of soccer camps
- Lambert High School - Annual $1,000 Sheepdog of the Year scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Lambert High School
We are looking for individual runners, families, church groups, running associations, middle/high school track and cross country teams to participate. We also encourage corporations to join us in a community-building event, contribute to their employees' health and support the growth of Sheepdog Connection.

HOW IT WORKS
This year's Sheepdog Connection - Scamper & Sprint is going virtual. Let's come together as a community while staying apart!
Here is how it works...
Step 1. Register to run/walk the virtual 5K and invite your friends to join!
Step 2. We will offer in person pick up at North GA Running Co (5456 Bethelview Rd, Suite 102, Cumming, GA 30040) on August 29th from 12-6pm. If you aren't able to make it we will mail your race swag to your door via USPS the following week! Shipping is included and you will receive email with tracking # as soon as your items are shipped!
Step 3. Run/walk the distance on your own, using our RaceJoy app or one of your other favorites to track your time and distance! Then, submit your time to be added to the Sheepdog Connection - Scamper & Sprint results leader board. Post a picture of your run to Facebook or Instagram using #SheepdogConnection.
Step 4: You did it! Enjoy a cup of coffee or ice cream and treat yourself!
Referral Program
Take advantage of our new referral program, powered by RunSignUp, and race for FREE! When you register for the Sheepdog Connection - Scamper & Sprint 5K you'll receive a special link to share on Facebook and Twitter. When five of your friends use that link to register you'll get a refund of your entry fee credited back to the card you used to register for the race**.

2. Check your confirmation email or your RunSignUp account page to get your custom link. It will also ask you to share to Facebook when completing registration.
