Apple Festival 5K

The 48th Annual Apple Festival 5k and 1 mile race is a great way to start the Georgia Apple Festival presented by the Ellijay Lions Club.  It is one of the longest running 5K events in Georgia.

We have a run at home option.  You can sign up to run the race anywhere you like and submit your time before noon on 10/12/24 to http://tiny.cc/24AppleFest5KTimes.  Those NOT running in person will not be listed in the final results and will not receive a shirt or an award.

48th Annual 5k and 1 mile race, the Apple Festival Road Race is a double loop course that starts and ends at the Ellijay Elementary School located off North Main Street across from City Hall. 

Race day registration and packet pick up start at 7:00 a.m. in the school gym. 

The 5K race starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 1 mile starts at 8:45 a.m.  We will have a Tot Trot in the gym following the Award Ceremony. Walkers, strollers and leashed dogs are permitted. Course Map

Unique Awards will be given to male and female overall, master, and grandmaster winners, as well as top 3 male and females in 14 age groups from 10 and under thru 70 and older.   Awards for top 3 boys and top 3 girls, 12 and under. 

Shirts are guaranteed to those who register by 9/19/24.  Those who register after that date and on race day are not guaranteed a shirt or size.

The race is part of the 2024 Black Bag Race Series and the Clover Glove Series.

Other Info: In case of rain, the races will go on. Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time. If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time. Sorry, no refunds
