Red Top Road Race 5K at LakePoint Sports

Please join us for the 2nd. Annual “Red Top Road Race 5K at LakePoint Sports."  Race day is Saturday morning, March 19, 2022 at 8:30 AM. 

Come and be a part of this amazing year 2 5K that follows the new LakePoint Parkway that connects the LakePoint Sports Complex to Red Top Mountain Rd. Departing from the LakePoint Sports South Campus, you’ll get to experience the tremendous views of the surrounding North Georgia mountains as this race route flows along one of the newest and most scenic roadways in all of Northern GA.  The challenge comes early with an initial quick climb that will take you up to a relatively flat 2 mile stretch of racing! But what goes up, must come down… as you’ll enjoy an awesome decline straight to the finish!  Runners and Walkers of all levels are welcome and this is a Rain or Shine event. 

New to the 2022 Event - The "N. GA School Challenge"!!! During the Registration Process - Select your area Elementary, Middle, or High School from the list.  Don't see your school? Just add it and others can select it!  On Race Day, the Top 3 Schools will all receive a financial contribution from LakePoint Sports!!!  

Race Day Schedule of Events:
*7:00 AM Race Day Registration Opens
*8:15 AM Race Day Registration Closes
*8:30 AM 5K Start Time
*9:45 AM 5K Awards Presentation (in front of the LakePoint Sports “Champions Center”)

Registration:
*$25 Pre-Race Registration Runs until 11:00 PM, Sunday March 13th. You must register by this date to guarantee your T-shirt size!  
*$35 Race Day Registration Fee 

*$25 GHOST RUNNER Registration also open until 11PM, March 13th.  "Ghost Runners" are guaranteed a T-shirt.  Thank you for your support!!

Awards:
Awards will be given to the following: 
*Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female Winners
*Top Masters Male and Top Masters Female Winners
*Top 3 Male & Female in the following Age Categories: 14-Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over

Parking and Race Start-Finish:
*Race Day Parking will be located adjacent to the LakePoint Sports “Champions Center” located at 261 Stars Way, Cartersville, GA 30121

*The Starting Line will be located directly in front of the Champions Center

*The Finish Line will be located on the North Side of the LakePoint Connector. (See attached Route Map for details.)

Pre-Registration Packet Pick up:
*Pre-Registration Packet Pick up will be held Friday, March 18th. from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM at the Big Peach Running Co. Cartersville Location - 402 E. Church St., Suite 107, Cartersville, GA 30120.  Please make every effort to attend pre-registration packet pick up to minimize lines and your wait time on race day morning! 

Race Route (See attached Route Map):
• The starting line will be near front of Champions Center
• Head South on access road to Stars Way and Turn RIGHT
• Continue to the light of LakePoint Parkway Turn RIGHT
• Follow LakePoint Parkway, crossing through the light and over Old Allatoona Road to go up the hill to LakePoint North Campus.
• Stay North on LakePoint Parkway until the dedicated U-turn to head back South on LakePoint Parkway
• Cross the bridge, and the finish line will be on the downhill between Taco Bell & QT.
