Description
Come run the Kahakuloa Coast Half-Marathon and Relay: "13.1 Miles of Majestic Maui Coastline". This new run will take you or your two-person team on a 13.1 mile challenging trek around the high north shore cliffs of West Maui, with scenic views of the Pacific. Proceeds from the run benefit the Servants of Keakua Mahalo Nui, a non-profit organization restoring the historic and beautiful Kahakuloa Hawaiian Congregational Church.
The race starts at 6:30am at D.T. Fleming Beach park in Kapalua. The course follows Honoapiilani Highway, which turns into Kahekili Highway all the way to lovely Kahakuloa town.
For the relay teams, The first leg will run from D.T. Fleming Beach to approximately 6.5 miles up onto Honoapiilani Highway. The second leg will catch a ride on the shuttle bus leaving at 6:35am, and be dropped off at the relay exchange spot, and then run Kahekili Highway into Kahakuloa town. The shuttle bus will bring first leg runners into Kahakuloa.
Breakfast will be served on the fields of peaceful Kahakuloa from 8-10am.
Grammy Award winning musician, and Kahakuloa resident, Richard Ho'opi'i will provide slack key guitar music from 9-10am
Age group awards will be presented at 10am. Awards to individual men and women in the following categories: 17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ Awards to winning relay teams in Mens, Womens, and Mixed categories. Medals to all finishers.
A shuttle bus back to D.T. Fleming Beach Park will leave at 11am.
