Stories of Strength and Hope

This page is a heartfelt space where riders, families, and friends share their journeys with mental health — the struggles they’ve faced, the battles they’ve fought, and the triumphs that inspire us all. Each story is a reminder that no one rides alone, and together we break stigma, build connection, and find hope

Why We Ride.

Many riders rode in memory of loved ones lost. Others rode to advocate for stronger mental health care. One rider, 56-year-old Gilford resident Scott Workman, battling liver cancer, rode with his dad, brother, son, and nephew to highlight the stark difference between access to physical health care and mental health care — and why this fight matters so deeply.

Why We Ride.

Kara Hayes from Proctor Academy shared a deeply personal story about her family’s journey with mental illness—offering a powerful reminder that these struggles often hit close to home. She spoke candidly about the challenges they faced, the emotional toll, and the resilience it took to navigate such a difficult path. Through her experience, Kara offered thoughtful guidance and emphasized the importance of a comprehensive, inclusive spectrum of mental health care.

NAMI NH Presentation

On September 16, 2025, The Highs & Lows Tour proudly presented a check for $80,000 to NAMI New Hampshire — a moment that marks not just a financial milestone, but a powerful testament to what community, compassion, and purpose can achieve together.

NAMI NH said it best:
“This dedicated group of volunteers shows that when passion meets action, amazing things happen… Most of all, they have created a community of hope and healing."
