Join EFR's casual bike ride fundraiser to normalize seeking support for mental illness while raising funds for EFR's mental health services! Bicyclists of all skill levels are welcome. You can look forward to a snazzy t-shirt, vouchers for food and drink at local businesses, fun games that test your knowledge about mental health, and the chance to win a lineup of new and exciting prizes!
Where: We will meet at Jethro's BBQ Southside and ride along the Great Western Trail. We'll kick off the ride together and you can choose from three distances along the trail; the roundtrip distances are 8 miles, 15 miles, or 32 miles. View a map of the routes here.
When: Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 21! Registration opens at 9:00 am with a grab-and-go breakfast, and the ride will kickoff at 10:15am.
Why we ride: One in three of our Iowan neighbors needing mental health care cannot access it due to the cost. That's why we are raising funds to ensure cost is never a barrier to care through our annual casual bike ride fundraiser! Ride Don’t Hide normalizes seeking support for mental illness, because stigma causes many people to hide the issues they struggle with each day. 100% of proceeds directly supports EFR’s life-saving mental health counseling and substance abuse services, enabling us to offer them on a sliding-fee scale so they are accessible to everyone regardless of ability to pay.
