After the rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to generosity, kindness, and giving back. It’s a chance to pause, look around our community, and ask, “How can I help?”
On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, we’re inviting friends of Scouting to join us in celebrating Giving Tuesday by investing in the young people of the Mountain West Council of Scouting America.
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a worldwide movement that encourages people to do good—through donations, acts of service, and sharing causes that matter. It always falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and has become the “opening day” of the charitable season.
For our Council, Giving Tuesday is a focused, 24-hour opportunity to:
- Remove financial barriers so every youth can participate in Scouting
- Support leadership development, outdoor adventures, and life-skills training
- Strengthen programs that build character, confidence, and resilience in local boys and girls
Your Gift Stays Local!
Every dollar given on Giving Tuesday stays right here in our communities across Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Your support helps:
- Provide camp and registration scholarships for youth who could not otherwise afford to join
- Expand ScoutReach and outreach programs in underserved neighborhoods
- Equip units and volunteers with the training and resources they need to deliver safe, high-quality Scouting experiences

How to Participate on December 2
On December 2, 2025, you can be part of our Giving Tuesday effort in three simple ways:
Give - Make a tax-deductible gift in any amount through this page. Consider a monthly gift to support Scouts all year long.
Share - Spread the word! Share this page with friends, family, coworkers, and on social media. A quick post, text, or email can inspire someone else to give.
Champion Scouting - Dedicate your gift “in honor of” a Scout, leader, mentor, or loved one who made a difference in your life, and encourage others to do the same.
