Description
RIVAURA ESTATE VINEYARD AND WINERY proudly presents our 6th annual Rivaura Rosé River Run/Walk:
This family-friendly 5K will start at Rivaura's beautiful event barn located inside the south vineyard. Participants will run through the vineyard before running west onto Hewett Road headed towards Spaulding Park. About half way down, there will be a turnaround point-with a shot of rosé! Racers will follow the same route and eventually return back through the vineyard, finishing at the event barn.
Every year the race has grown! Over 600 runners/walkers participated last year and we expect 1000 this year! HELP US REACH OUR GOAL OF 1000 participants!!!
Race day participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, wine tumbler, and a glass of Rivaura's Cab Franc Rosé or a glass of River Ranch Brewing Co. beer. Those under 21 will receive a glass of sparkling cider. CHILDREN 5 & under FREE! Children 6-12 discounted price! We have a child and a youth size t-shirt available this year! *If your child is 5 & under, but you still want them to receive a swag bag, including a t-shirt-you can still sign them up for the discounted price!
On race day the event barn will be open at 8:30am for participants arriving early. Music, food, drinks, and goodies will be available before and after the race in and around the event barn.
Fentanyl Awareness & Rivaura Rosé River Run - 6th Annual 5k Run/Walk
April 29, 2026-just 11 days prior to the race is National Fentanyl Awareness Day, and Rivaura will be donating a portion of the race proceeds and 100% of the donations of this event to fentanyl awareness. This race is in honor of Cal Daniel Heinen, who was more than just a friend to the Hewett family, he was also Winemaker Lane Hewett's best friend and classmate. His life ended suddenly in November 2019 due to an accidental overdose from a pill laced with Fentanyl. It seems everyone knows someone who has been impacted by this crisis. This event has served as an outlet for many families and organizations. There will be many informational booths supporting spreading the awareness and many great vendors!
During the 5th annual Rivaura Rosé River Run last year, we raised almost $20,000. This money was donated to non-profit organizations that are helping spread awareness about the dangers of fentanyl. One of those organizations is Song for Charlie. We gave a bulk of the donations to them, with the understanding that they would help spread awareness in our community specifically.
Opioid overdose deaths have been DECLINING since mid-2023! This is a great statistic to hear, but our work is not done yet! Law enforcement, the DEA, and Medical Examiners, have found themselves increasingly overwhelmed with the amount of fentanyl deaths in America. On December 15, 2025, illicit fentanyl was designated as a Weapon of Mass Destruction. We need people talking, researching, and sharing Cal's story. We want to make sure Cal’s death and the deaths of countless others will not be in vain, but may help save lives. Remember Cal, Remember Why. To find out more about fentanyl awareness, visit Song for Charlie and Be That Friend on Instagram and Facebook.

Can I bring a stroller? Of course!
Can I bring my dog? If you have a well-behaved and trained dog, yes! We ask that they be leashed AT ALL TIMES and please pick up after them!
What if I don't want to run? You are not required to run, many people walk! We set the runners free first and all walkers start behind them.
What if I don't want to run OR walk? No worries! Come hang out with us and support the cause!
When can I pick up my packet? You will be able to pick up your packet (t-shirt, tumbler, etc.) the week of the race at Rivaura's main tasting room. We will send out an email as it gets closer. We recommend picking up your packet prior to race day if possible. If you can't, they will be available the morning of the race.
Will the tasting room be open on race day? No, the tasting room will not be open. We will have all hands on deck at the event. Come across the river and join us for the day! We will be open normal hours in the vineyards with great music, awesome vendors, delicious food, and Rivaura's excellent wine and beer!
What do I need to bring with me? If you are 21+ and plan to drink or purchase alcohol, you'll need your ID! A bracelet will be placed on your wrist with proof of valid ID to receive and purchase alcohol. Under 21 participants will receive a glass of sparkling cider with their drink ticket. Other beverages will also be available on race day. Other recommendations would be sunscreen, sunglasses, and anything else you need to conquer the day!
Should I sign up? 100% yes you should!!! You'll be supporting a great cause!
When should I sign up? We highly recommend signing up as soon as possible. If you don't, you may miss out on having the 2026 t-shirt on race day!
Should I bring a friend? Bring three friends and carpool to save time and parking space!
Why would I carpool? Because you love your friends and family, plus parking is TIGHT with 600+ participants and more anticipated this year! Please help us out by CARPOOLING with your friends and family to the vineyard!
When should I arrive? We will open the gate at 8:30am. This gives you time to park, eat breakfast, pick up your packet (if you didn't pick it up the week prior), explore vendor tables, and say hi to your friends! The earlier you arrive the better, the race starts at 10:30am.
Can I bring a lawn chair? Definitely! There is plenty of space for you to pop up a lawn chair and enjoy the day!
Do I need to bring cash or card to pay for goodies on race day? Either one works for us!
I can't make it this year, but I want to help. Donating to the event is help enough! Rivaura will again be giving all donations to organizations helping spread awareness about the dangers of fentanyl.
