Description
This is the 2nd Annual Suicide Awareness/Prevention 5K run or 1 mile walk depending on your ability. The race will begin and end between the Calvary Baptist Church and Hillsboro Junior High School on East Fairground Avenue. Pre-Registration fees will cover the cost of a t-shirt for each paid participant. The top three overall 5K run winners will also receive recognition. The Montgomery County Health Department is hosting this event with all proceeds going to Standing Against Addiction and Drugs (S.A.A.D.); whose mission is to raise awareness about addiction. Oftentimes addiction can lead to suicide. Let's come together as a community and start “Riding the Wave of Life”.
Check-in and registration will take place from 8:30 – 8:55 a.m. next to the Start/Finish line on East Fairground Avenue between the Calvary Baptist Church and the Junior High School. The 5K course will travel towards Beckemeyer School through some neighborhoods and turn back the same way to the Start/Finish line. The mile course will follow the same route with a marker to indicate the turn-around point (approximately Marshall Street). The course will be clearly marked. Please park at the High School or Junior High with the understanding that cars will be discouraged from leaving until after the running race is completed. All Registration Fees are non-refundable.
