The Historic Downtown Long Grove 2nd Annual Virtual New Year's Day 5k!

A fun 5k to start your New Year off right.  We’re giving you the whole month of January to get your run done, (January 1, 12:00am - January 31, 12:00pm). 

Details 

Join us for a 5k run or walk to support Save-A-Pet Animal Shelter and do something healthy for yourself at the same time! This VIRTUAL RUN / WALK will have an in town route around the Historic Downtown Long Grove town limits. This will start and end by The Village Tavern Restaurant and Visitors Center parking lot. The route will be provided as part of your registration packet. The in-town route is optional, you can also choose to run / walk the 5k in your neighborhood, at your health club, or while your on vacation. This will have lots of community engagement with social media, posting your run results, and photos.

You can also set up a social group and have anyone join from anywhere! Get your colleagues, friends and family together and do it as a team! 

HOW A VIRTUAL RUN WORKS:

• Register online 

• Once your registration is complete, your running packet will be created 

• Any time after January 1, 2022 and before January 31, go out for a 5k (3.1 miles) run or walk using your phone or Fitbit or anything you choose to time yourself

• After your run / walk, come back to this website and submit your time

• Post your photos from the run on your Instagram and tag us @enjoylonggrove #HDLGNEWYEARSDAY5K

December 20:        12:00am Registration opens

December 30:         2:00-5:00pm Packet Pick-up at the Village Tavern

January 1:              12:00am Start your 5k any time, any day, any location

January 20:             2:00-5:00pm Late Packet Pick-Up at the Village Tavern

January 30:             11:59pm Registration Closes

January 31:             11:59pm 5k must be completed                                      

5k Walk/Run Packet includes 

Bib, number, t-shirt, goody bag, map with in town 5k optional route to do at your leisure and finisher certificate instructions

Long Grove New Years Day 5K Mission Statement 

The Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association is dedicated to making a difference for our community while helping animals find loving homes. With each race entry, we will raise awareness and funds to make that possible. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Save-A-Pet. They are a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping save animals in the Northern Illinois area and beyond. They have played a big role in helping animals find loving homes.
