This 5K Walk/Run will be a great opportunity to show off your speed, set personal bests, or just enjoy a fun day of activity while supporting two great organizations.  NAMI Northern Illinois serves Winnebago, Boone, and Stephenson counties. NAMI members are families, friends, professionals, advocates, and people living with mental illness and they provide education, offer support and resources, and advocate for those who need assistance. The NAACP has also been advocating for this cause, especially amongst people of color. Nearly 1 in every 5 adults experience some type of mental illness and of these adults, half are minorities.
