ANNOUNCEMENT
CHANGES DUE TO CORONAVIRUS
Due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak facing the United States, Dugger Union Community Schools has decided to switch the 2020 David Land Memorial 5K/Dog Walk to a Virtual Fun Run.
A virtual run means that you will complete a 5K or 1 mile dog walk and submit your results to duggerunionschools.org/DL5k. Results must be received by 11:59 PM on Friday, April 10, 2020. The week of April 13, 2020, race directors will combine the results of the 5K and issue certificates. Participants of the 1 mile dog walk will receive participation certificates.
What does this mean?
Participates will complete their 5K or 1 mile dog walk at their leisure starting Friday, April 3 and finishing on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
For participants who have already registered, you need to log on to Run Sign-up and transfer your race to the virtual 5K. Next, run or walk sometime between Friday, April 3 and Sunday, April 5, 2020.
If you haven’t registered, you still have time. Log on to www.duggerunionschools.org/DL5k.
When will I receive my T-shirt?
T-shirts will be awarded at the conclusion of the virtual race. Participants may make arrangements for pick up at DUCS or have the shirt shipped. Addresses must be updated in Run Signup.
What if I want a refund?
Participants may request a refund until Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Any refund request received after March 31, 2020 will not be approved. All refund requests should be emailed to tarthur@duggerunionschools.org.

Description
David Land always ran the Coal Festival 5K. He was physically challenged, but shuffle stepped his way through the whole race. He always impressed me by his determination to finish, even after the race was officially over and the crowd had left..... The crowd had left...but he pressed on. He always smiled real big at me and would shout, "I made it!", while pumping his arms in victory. Christina White, DUCS Science Teacher & cousin
DUCS would like to honor David's commitment and determination. The David Land Memorial 5K/1 mile Dog Walk (in honor of our mascot, the Bulldogs) will support good behavior rewards/trips for our students in kindergarten through 8th grade.
The race will begin in the south parking lot of Dugger Union Community Schools, located at 7356 E. County Road 50S; Dugger, Indiana.
April 4, 2020
5K Race to begin at 9:00 AM (check-in begins at 8:00 AM)
1 Mile Dog Walk to begin at approximately 9:05 AM.
