Events

Please check back for 2021 Dates.

Sponsors, past participants, and our 5K supporters,

Thank you for your valuable and continued support of our annual Project 216 5K event.  With your help last year, over 14,850 life-saving meals were produced and distributed.

Unfortunately, due to the current COVID19 pandemic, we feel the most responsible action to take is to postpone this year's 5K event until 2021.

The need for nutritious food continues to grow at a rapid pace as this pandemic stretches into 3rd world countries and impacts our local community hit hard with job loss and health issues.  Project 216 is committed to supply more meals than ever to local food pantries and food banks to feed our very own community along with shipping meals into Haiti, Ethiopia, Niger, Malawi, Uganda and Zambia for distribution.

However, in order to do this funding is key.

For our sponsors, we again thank you for your past support.   We ask that you consider direct donation to Project 216 this year in lieu of the 5K run.  If you would like to make a tax deductible donation please follow the link below.

Runners, although we may not have a race for you this year, consider giving part of your race entry as a direct tax deductible donation to Project 216.  Follow the link below.

Less than $60 buys a box of 216 life-saving nutritious meals.  That's just $.27 per meal that can truly make a difference.

Thank YOU for the difference you've made and continue to make!

Description

This is the 6th Annual Project 216 5K.  The 5K proceeds and direct sponsorship pay for the raw ingredients to pack the Nutri-Plenty® meal. Our race provides a range of 10,000 to 15,000 meals for starving children in Haiti, Philippines, and in our very own back yard.  The next person to open these boxes will be those who are desperately in need of these meals.

WHAT IS PROJECT 216?
Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the many problems that exist in this world? Have you wanted to just DO SOMETHING but didn’t know where to start? Project 216 exists for just that reason. We are here to help you and your group make a real difference in the fight against world hunger. Our Packing Event program allows you to take ownership of a hunger project and make it your own. We will come alongside you every step of the way with the tools you need to make it happen. What does a packing event look like for your group? Click here to learn more.

WHY PROJECT 216?
The name Project 216 has three different meanings, all of which encompass what we do.  The first and most basic is that every Project 216 box that gets shipped out contains 216 meals. The second meaning revolves around our volunteers, without whom we absolutely could not exist! At every 2 hour packing event, each volunteer will average about 216 meals. This means that every single person who comes to an event is responsible for about 216 meals for the hungry. Because of each volunteer, whether they are 5 or 95, 216 people will receive a meal designed to help them thrive. And finally, as a Christian organization, we serve because Jesus came to serve. James 2:16 says, If one of you says to those in need, “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? We want to be an organization that not only sees the need, but does something about it, and empowers you to do something about it too!
