Description

Join us for the Fourth Annual National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) 5K for Immigrant Justice in person or virtually! Join us on race day, Saturday, October 29 in Goshen, Indiana, or do your favorite trail or route near you anytime during our race week through Saturday, November 5. Come together with community members around the country in this event to support immigrants’ rights and fund life-changing legal services. Having a lawyer can prevent deportation, protect families, and ensure everyone knows their rights. Your participation in this race, and any additional donation you are able to make to NIJC, will fund legal services for people including asylum seekers and families who face separation, and community outreach and education. This event is led by NIJC's team in our Goshen, Indiana office.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

This 5K is a community event where everyone should feel welcome, safe, and comfortable. We have a virtual option to include those who are not in the Goshen, IN area and those who feel more comfortable participating on their own. For the in-person event, we are taking proper precautions to ensure the safety of all participants. Please see the below for more details:

  • NIJC asks that any unvaccinated participants wear masks.
  • NIJC asks that any participant exhibiting COVID symptoms or participants with known COVID exposures refrain from attending in person. Registered participants who are unable to attend the in person race due to COVID symptoms or exposure may transfer to the virtual race.
  • NIJC encourages participants to distance at the race starting line. Race times will be determined by a timing device that is activated upon crossing the starting line, so allowing space between racers will not prejudice individual race times or placement.
  • NIJC will provide hand sanitizer on site at the in-person race.
  • Please be aware that if local health officials determine that in-person events are not safe due to COVID conditions, the in person race may be converted to a virtual event.
