About the Event
For over 35 years, Sister Cities of Greenfield has been sending delegations of students and teachers to our Sister City, Kakuda, Japan. Thanks to generous support from the city, Astemo, and from activities like the 5K Walk/Run, students have been able to travel to Kakuda for much less than the actual cost of airfare and lodging. Likewise, Sister Cities of Greenfield has hosted dozens of Japanese student delegations. These exchanges have enabled hundreds of individuals to personally appreciate the fact that differences don't matter much when true friendships develop.
Little Free Library Book Drive
Sister Cities of Greenfield will be accepting book donations at packet pick-up and the day of the race to help keep the Little Free Library at the Sister Cities Pagoda stocked. Dust off those bookshelves and bring some books to donate!
Awards
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers of the 5k. No awards are given for the 1 mile race.
