RaceJoy Ready

Description

We know folks are itching to toe a real starting line, and we have the ability to provide that. Although COVID-19 has changed the way we compete-it will NOT force us to stop competing. We have designed a safe time trial 5k to allow a very select number of participants the opportunity to compete against the clock, themselves, and real competition on the same course with official Mylaps timing. Expect a custom start/finish line, a fun course, official results, live tracking, epic cheers, and of course great rehydration. Things have changed, but we will Proceed to Party.

Quick Details:

This time trial event will offer 21 spots on Saturday and 34 spots on Sunday. When you register you will pick the day you would like to race, and then an available start time. Saturday the event starts at 6:45 AM (runner/walker goes every 10 minutes) going until 10:05 AM. Sunday the event starts at 6:45 AM (runner/walker goes every 10 minutes) going until 12:05 PM. Participants are allowed a maximum of 1 hr and 10 minutes to complete their 5k which will only have a maximum of 7 people on the course at a time. All social distancing guidelines will be required and no spectators outside of the participants home are allowed. Spectators from the home will be assigned a cheer station to hang out in for their participants time slot. We are utilizing the Racejoy app for both staff and spectators (on and off site) to track participants. Spectators and Staff will also be able to engage participants with fun virtual cheers through the app. Expect an official Red Solo Run start/finish line with great music, an energetic RaceMaker staff, and a good time...well if you bring the speed :)

Centers For Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines Related to the COVID-19 Pandemic

We ask that all registrants certify that they will comply with the current CDC Guidelines and other directives from the Governor of Indiana in participating and completing their Red Solo Run-Plainfield Time Trial.  Participants will start, and finish "ALONE" in this time trial event. They will also maintain social distancing through the run even if passing other participants.

Here are some ways to be safe and still get your time trial 5k in:

RUN ALONE!  We will assure you start alone. There will be 10 minutes between each start time. If you pass another participant we ask that you stay 6ft or more away from them in all directions. If someone is passing you let the faster runner take position while you move out of the way. Just like in the sport of triathlon (on the bike) keep your distance and act as if "drafting" is illegal or will get you penalized. Space is key to a safe time trial run.

Be aware of your surroundings.  We are all vying for some of the same space when we are on the time trial course. This event is very limited in participants allowed, and if participants stay aware they should never be close.  Be courteous of others and providing plenty of room when you pass.

This event will not allow spectators from outside the participants home. Spectators from the participants home should avoid the start/finish line. On the morning of the run participants who have spectators should notify staff at packet pick up. We will then assign a cheer station for your participants to hang out at. Please assure that all participants stay in their assigned area during your allotted time trial time slot.

We encourage all participants and any household spectators to maintain social distancing and to wear a mask.
