12th Annual Nicholas Fillinger Memorial Run

The 12th annual Nicholas Fillinger Memorial Run will be held on July 19, 2025 on the beautiful campus of St. Bernard Prep School in Cullman, Alabama.  Nicholas died tragically in a training accident in September 2013.  St. Bernard was one of his favorite places to run.  This run honors his memory with a run in one of his favorite places but also provides a team challenge (minimum of 5 runners but may be coed).  Nicholas loved the team aspect of cross-country.  The best way to honor his memory is to form a team and come compete.

The run benefits the Cullman Cross Country program and The Link.

Each step you take in the Nicholas Fillinger Memorial Run is more than a stride toward the finish line — it’s a tribute to a life that continues to inspire, unite, and uplift our community. This special event honors the memory of Nicholas Fillinger by bringing together family, friends, and community members to celebrate the fruit of Nicholas' life and the family, friends, and community he loved dearly and deeply. 

Whether you're running for a personal best at St. Bernard or walking alongside friends, your participation helps us remember Nicholas’s legacy and support a cause (Cullman Cross Country and The Link) that makes a meaningful difference. Lace up, show up, and be part of something bigger — a day of encouragement, remembrance, and community spirit.

Must have at least 5 runners to score as a team, but you can have as many people as you want on the team. 

All teams must be submitted to Trent Dean (tdean@cullmancats.net) before race day. Submit team name, the name of all the members on the team, and make sure each team member has registered online.
