Gators Got Their Land Legs

The Gator Run-Gators Got Their Land Legs 5k benefits our local community swim team, the Greene County Gators. The race will take place at Greene County Tech Junior High, at 5201 W Kingshighway in Paragould. The profits of the race will aid in keeping monthly costs at a reasonable rate, help to buy new equipment, and boost our scholarship fund for less fortunate athletes who would otherwise not be able to afford monthly fees.

 About the Greene County Swim Team

The Greene County Swim Team is a not for profit (501c3) competitive swim team where kids from age 5 to 18 years old learn the fundamentals of competitive swimming including all 4 strokes, proper technique, as well as challenging workouts tailored to their ability levels. They compete with other swimmers of their own age from all around Arkansas, and those who qualify have the opportunity to travel with an elite group of swimmers from our state to the AAU Junior Olympic Games. At this annual championship meet, our athletes compete for the AAU National Title against others from all over the country. This event gives each qualifying swimmer the experience of a lifetime, as well as the chance to make connections in the swimming world that may lead to not only lifelong friendships, but scholarship and college opportunities within the sport. Aside from swimming, our intermediate and advanced groups participate in yoga, running, and fun dry land activities to increase strength and endurance. We promote a healthy and fun atmosphere for our swimmers and family members alike.

We believe that every child should be given the opportunity to excel in what he or she loves--that is why we offer a scholarship program to assist swimmers and families who are unable to afford the full expense of competitive swimming due to financial constraints. This program has been very successful in aiding athletes who have grown to be exceptional individuals both in and out of the pool, and we look forward to continuing these achievements on an even higher level.
