Description

Sheep Dog Impact Assistance's 12th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Charity Run, Wild Gobbler 5K, 1-Mile Fun Walk and Virtual 5K Run

It is that time of year again! As the holiday season approaches, you have a wonderful opportunity to be active while helping our nation’s "Sheep Dogs" - our former and current military veterans and first responders (Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue & EMS professionals). These courageous men and women put their lives on the line for us each and every day, giving us the gift of protection and security.

Your participation in (or donation to) the NWA Turkey Trot for Heroes, provides the funding needed to help our struggling "Sheep Dogs" #Get Off The Couch and re-engage in life.  The proceeds raised by this event will be used for our mission to engage, assist, and empower our heroes through participation in disaster response missions and outdoor adventures.  Disaster response missions give our members, and like-minded volunteers, the opportunity to deploy to areas that have been devastated by a natural disaster and allows them to satisfy their innate desire to serve by using their training to muck out homes that have been flooded, patch leaky roofs and windows, clear debris and remove fallen trees and branches.  The Outdoor adventure program sponsors our heroes, who have been injured in the line of duty, on life changing events.  These activities include adventure races, rock crawling, camping, sky diving, scuba diving, hunting and fishing trips, and so much more.  Each event is designed to provide a physical challenge, while providing the support needed for success.  Participants are surrounded by peers who understand what they are going through and develop a sense of camaraderie that is often lost during the rehabilitation process.

Early Registration Packet Pick Up will be Tuesday, Nov. 26th., from 4:00-7:00 PM and Wednesday, Nov. 27th. from 4:00-7:00 PM. in the Center for Nonprofits lobby.

Tickets purchased AFTER 5:00 PM on Monday Nov. 25th. are NOT eligible for Early Packet Pick Up. You will need to pickup your packet the morning of the event.  Race packets can be picked up the morning of the race beginning at 8:00 AM.

This event is open to all runners, walkers, SDIA Members, supporters, sponsors and the general public!  All are encouraged to participate and/or attend! Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome!
